Alyce B. Bordelon

Alyce B. Bordelon

Gulf Breeze, Florida

Alyce received her undergraduate degree from the University of West Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BSBA – Accounting in 1993.  She then attended Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law School where she received her J. D. in 1998.  After passing the CPA exam while attending law school, Alyce obtained employment with a dual practitioner Tax Attorney/CPA that would allow her to practice both law and accounting, in which she thrived for seven years.   Although she enjoyed the dual practice environment, driving distance and commuting time, as well as the ability to serve clients closer to her hometown of Prairieville, Louisiana (just outside of Baton Rouge), were significant factors in her decision to establish her own dual firms in 2004 based on the business model of first employer.  Alyce was certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization in 2006 as a Board-Certified Tax Law Specialist.

In addition to opening her own law firm and CPA firms she also took the opportunity to form a QuickBooks Consulting company, an idea she’d envisioned during her early practice years.  Utilizing both her accounting and law degrees and she gained dual practicing experience through her dual professional firms she has provided legal and accounting services for over fourteen years.   Her clientele increased through word of mouth to include businesses and individuals across South Louisiana, including the parishes of East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Assumption and St. James, St. John. St. Landry, Jefferson and Orleans.

Alyce was active in her community as well as professionally.   She served all offices of the 23rd Judicial District Bar Association (President, Vice President, Treasurer & Secretary), during which she initiated a High School Mock Trial Program for the tri-parish area served by the 23rd Judicial District.   Alyce was invited to join the Dean Henry McMahon Chapter of American Inns of Court and was a Charter Member of the River Parishes Estate Planning Council.

Alyce’s community service included holding offices of President, Vice President and Secretary of the Rotary Club of North Ascension Parish, as well as serving on the Finance Council of her church, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Louisiana.  Alyce also served on the Audit Committee for the Ascension Parish Chamber of Commerce.

Alyce’s professional memberships included the American Bar Association, Tax Section, Louisiana State Bar Association Tax Section, 23rd Judicial District Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Attorney – Certified Public Accountants.

In 2017, Alyce moved to Florida, where she became a partner in the Bordelon Law Firm with her husband, John S. Bordelon, through which she provides legal services to clients in Louisiana, while John is licensed to practice law and serves clients in both Louisiana and Florida.   Alyce continues to practice as a CPA through her CPA firm, licensed in Louisiana and Florida.
